If you want to tank, blacksmith is good for some high-threat weapons. Also, the engineering tankatronic goggles are amazing tank gear. But the S1 gladiator's helm or badge gear are about the same in quality. As Brand said, JC + enchanting is good for caster role. However, that is an expensive duo to take. Maybe to JC + mining first until you max out JC and have surplus cash on hand. Then drop mining for enchanting.
